NCI, a leading supplier of tools that manage changes to software and content, today announced that CONTROL-CS integrates with Microsoft Visual Studio .NET as a source code control provider. CONTROL-CS, working with Visual Studio.NET, enables customers to gain productivity while enhancing security and reliability in their development environments. Customers that use the HP Enterprise Tool Kit for NonStop Edition will be able to archive on the NonStop platform.
The developer can check out and check in file versions while remaining in Visual Studio .NET - taking advantage of the power of CONTROL-CS without the need for training in the tool. Managers and administrators can use the native CONTROL-CS interface to create and manage the necessary level of control of functionality and security, by role, by project or in combination. CONTROL-CS, as a ‘source code control provider’ implements the Microsoft SCC Interface, similar to the MS Visual Source Safe product. However, CONTROL-CS extends the concept to connect with other platforms. Beyond Visual Studio.NET, there are dozens of development tools and environments that use the SCC interface to integrate with source code control providers. NCI’s CONTROL-CS helps customers manage change to software and content on HP NonStop NSK and OSS platforms, on HP-UX and other UNIX and LINUX platforms and on MS Windows
server platforms.
